Owner of Down Street record store and a dedicated music collector. He began collecting vinyl in the mid-2000s, starting with house music. Since opening the store, his collection has expanded beyond electronic music to include genres like jazz, funk, hip-hop, and more. For the Sofa Session, he’ll be sharing selections gathered over the past four years.

Deniss Funk is the FunCoolio* band leader, playing bass instruments. He is also a prolific music selector and surely his selection gonna expand your music horizons, see comment for tunes played.

"FunCOOLio" is a Latvian instrumental funk/fusion band, formed in 2011, in Riga, Latvia. The band plays original compositions in style of BALTIC FUSION and it brings a pleasant listening experience. The creative association includes guitarist George Panfilov, drummer Jurij Osipovich, bassist Denis Gradalev aka Deniss Funk, saxophonist Fred Hormain, and organ player Vladimir Tuzov (this is a founding group members in 2010).

After 1,5 years, Jazzy Marky and Nick Ustinov Jr. are back with another selection of Latvian grooves. This time celebrating 105th anniversary of Latvias independence. Expect Jazz, Funk and some experimental electronic stuff from 70s-80s Latvia on both vinyl and digital.

MAREKS AMERIKS / Jersika Records Mareks is more than a deep selector. He is one of the most dedicated people of the moment in Latvian jazz music scene. The man behind Jersika Records, a drummer for prolific group Rīgas Modes. We are honored to be able to record a video performance of him.

This is the SoulJedi show focusing on Soul and Neo Soul music, but not exclusive to that. Jazz, electronica, afrobeat, real disco and nu-disco, dub/reggae, and many more will be featured. This one goes from 23-September-23 @ Down Street Records, Stabu 2, Riga
